About Therapy in Practice
The present Government has recognised that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the most effective form of psychotherapy. Anxiety and depression secondary to a physical illness such as COPD, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Cancer and Chronic Pain can often be alleviated using CBT techniques. A large number of healthcare professionals such as nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists are able to integrate CBT techniques into their everyday practice to help patients suffering from a physical condition.
Therapy in Practice aim to provide healthcare professionals with the skills to help this group of patients by providing high quality CBT courses aimed at professionals working within the physical health setting.
Course tutors are fully qualified CBT practitioners with a minimum of 2 years training and many years of firsthand experience using CBT within their own particular areas of speciality.
Therapy in Practice will provide a comprehensive introductory 2 day course in your place of work or a 4 day intermediate course based in Newcastle upon Tyne - North East England. Organisations such as Primary Care Trusts, NHS Foundation Trusts, Private Hospitals/Clinics and Drug Companies would all benefit from staging courses provided by Therapy in Practice.
