Karen Heslop
Karen Heslop qualified as a nurse in 1984 and has worked in medicine since this time. She has specialised in respiratory medicine since 1988. After completing her Diploma, Honours Degree and Masters Degree she undertook training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Karen is the first respiratory nurse specialist to complete a post-graduate diploma in CBT in the UK - if not in Europe. Since qualifying she has helped develop a CBT course specifically for professionals working in the physical health setting.
Dr Christine Baker
Dr Christine Baker is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience of providing Psychological Therapy in physical health settings. Chris trained as a Cognitive Therapy Supervisor at the inception of the Newcastle upon Tyne cognitive therapy course and teaches and supervises a wide range of health professionals at different levels of experience. Her research interests include cognitive therapy supervision and the development and evaluation of cognitive models and therapy in chronic disease management.
Chris Irving
Chris Irving MBA BSc SRP - Partner & Course Administrator. Eight years of experience as a chartered physiotherapist, previous experience as an aeronautical engineer. Presently using CBT techniques supporting patients with chronic disease based in Newcastle. Now responsible for the organisation and promotion of CBT by providing high quality training courses to health care professionals.
